
More than 5000 athletes participated in the first draw of the Ramadan sports event "Hafit Challenge", organized by the Al-Ain City Administration with the cooperation of the local sports club. The event itself received support from Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the UAE government in the Al-Ain region.
The event was announced at a press conference in the hall of the club president at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, with the participation of the club's executive member Hamda Nakheira Al Amri, the general director of the Al-Ain City Administration Rashid Al Manaei, and the chairperson of the event organization committee Salem Al Katbi.
Rashid Al Manaei noted: "The participation of the various residential areas in the Hafit Challenge reflects the spirit of a united community, which remains one of the key aspects of the Al-Ain identity."
He also emphasized that cooperation with the local sports club in organizing the event is based on the rich experience of the club in organizing large sporting events, its high professionalism in providing excellent sports experiences for participants and spectators. 36 teams will participate in the event for football: 24 from residential areas and 12 representing government and private entities, as well as competitions in volleyball, basketball, jiu-jitsu, running, cycling, archery, paddle, and PlayStation, as well as seven competitions for athletes with limited capabilities.
Salem Al Katbi stated: "Hafit Challenge is an important sporting event that unites different residential areas of the city and its governmental and private institutions."
The competitions began on the 5th day of Ramadan and will last until the 18th of the month, under the supervision of the Al-Ain City Administration and the local sports club. High organizational standards were adopted to ensure a remarkable sporting experience for participants and spectators.
